Animated Weapon Glows

This is a static version of a fan section that was once available at Chordian.net, compiled June 18, 2011. It will no longer be updated because I don't play the game anymore. You are welcome to use this (or parts of it) in any way you want.— Chordian

All weapon glows in World of Warcraft can be examined here, including Death Knight runes and the newest enchants in Cataclysm. You can click any of the static images to play a GIF animation. All the glows are shown using the same 1H vendor sword.

Weapons

These are the glows for the standard weapon enchants that can be applied by players with the enchanting profession. You can apply them to both 1H and 2H weapons, but the unique enchants for 2H weapons are usually better.

Minor Beastslayer

Sometimes grant Blood Reserve when striking an enemy or inflicting damage with bleed attacks. When you fall below 35% health, Blood Reserve restores 360 to 440 health. Lasts 20 sec and stacks up to 5 times.

Blade Ward

Permanently enchants a weapon to sometimes grant Blade Warding when striking an enemy. Blade Warding increases your parry rating by 200 and inflicts 600 to 800 damage on your next parry. Lasts 10 sec.

Avalanche

Mending

Elemental Slayer

These are the glows for the two-handed weapon enchants that can be applied by players with the enchanting profession. Most of the enchants are 2H only, but note that there are also a couple of enchants for staffs.

Weapon Chains

A weapon chain is an item created by blacksmiths. Currently only one weapon chain adds a glow to a weapon.

Titanium Weapon Chain

Use: Attaches a chain to your weapon, reducing the duration of Disarm effects by 50% and increasing your hit rating by 28. Does not stack with other similar effects.

Death Knight Runes

Death Knights can make use of runeforging to affix their weapons with a rune. Runeforge enchantments are permanent and they overwrite any regular enchantments. Modifying a rune weapon requires a runeforge.

Spellbreaking

Affixes your one-handed rune weapon with a rune that deflects 2% of all spell damage and reduces the duration of Silence effects by 50% (not cumulative with additional Silence duration reduction).

Spellshattering

Lichbane

Swordbreaking

Swordshattering

The Fallen Crusader
